Photo: Oilers’ Gagner reveals his gruesome broken jaw

Vancouver Canucks fans might be grimacing at the specter of losing Zack Kassian‘s rambunctious presence for eight games (five regular season, three preseason), but visual evidence of Edmonton Oilers center Sam Gagner‘s broken jaw should drive the seriousness of that high-stick home nicely.*

Gagner, 24, shared this gruesome capture of the damage on Twitter Monday:

He remarked that he hopes to be “better looking” soon enough. Here are a few “before” photos via Getty, for reference:

That last photo might capture how many people feel about seeing Gagner’s damaged jaw and teeth.

Again, Gagner is out indefinitely with that broken jaw. He’s expected to undergo surgery on it Tuesday.

* – Not that such an image will necessarily keep all Canucks fans from grumbling about the suspension, of course.

The NHL has just announced they reviewed the video one more time and decided to give Kassian 4 more games. That is brutal. Surprised those teeth stayed in his mouth. Used to be a decent looking guy. Although since were the same age, I am beginning to appreciate my hair a little more than I used to.
