Anisimov out indefinitely after Coyle hit last night

There’s an update on how Columbus’ Artem Anisimov is doing after the wicked hit he took from Minnesota’s Charlie Coyle last night.

Shawn Mitchell of The Columbus Dispatch reports he flew with the team to Denver. That’s the good news. The bad news is he’s out indefinitely for the team. Anisimov’s head is what’s hurting and losing him again for a stretch of time is not what the playoff-chasing Blue Jackets need at the moment.

Currently, Anisimov is tied for the team lead in goals with 11 and is third on the team in points with 18. Vinny Prospal leads the team with 26. A team that already doesn’t produce a lot of offense can’t afford to lose one of the few guys who does for very long.

No suspension for Coyle? You can see he looks at the puck, and then ignores it and goes for Anisimov’s head.

You can see that…no one else sees it that way and thankfully the league doesn’t either. Clean hit.

The funny part is Dubinsky’s elbow was intended for Coyle’s head he just wasn’t tall enough to hit him there. Coyle’s didn’t appear to be intentional just a good physical play.

I was at the game near the hit, and Coyle did not do it on purporse, both were going after the puck and Asimov had his head going down and Coyle’a arm with the stick went up …. There was no suspension or fine by
Shannahan for the hit, and everyone today on NBC sports agreed that it was not on purpose…
Coyle is not that kind of player…
They both were just going after the puck and things happen like this.,..
But it was not intentional at all by Coyle…

I thought the hit was clean as well. He got nailed! !

Coyle hits him clean with the shoulder. Guy needs to skate with his head up and he won’t get blown up like that. It shouldn’t have even been a penalty, but the refs suck so what do you expect. Dubinsky is an a$$ clown for starting a fight after that hit. That’s what makes fighting ridiculous in today’s game, there’s no justification behind it half the time. If your teammate gets blown up with a big, legal check…..then go out there and throw a big, legal check yourself. The fighting gets stupid at times.

I don’t mind them scrapping after a big hit on one of your players, that is what teammates do. Where I have a problem with is those useless staged fights. They are pointless, who cares where two goons go at, win or lose the fight it will not change the outcome of the game.

Clean hit. Shoulder, no elbow. He even laid off. Glad no call from Shanny.
