Watch Slovenians go wild over the Kings winning Game 2

Jun 3, 2012, 4:31 PM EST

The Kings’ victory in Game 2 isn’t only a big deal in Los Angeles, it’s a really big deal in Jesenice, Slovenia.

Why there? It’s Anze Kopitar‘s hometown and Rich Hammond of L.A. Kings Insider shares (courtesy of Anze’s brother Gasper) a video of the scene early morning in Jesenice as Jeff Carter‘s overtime goal sent the town into a frenzy.

It’s a damn shame that HK Jesenice won’t be competing in the Austrian-based EBEL again next year. The club has been in hard times financially over the past few years after losing sponsors and last season’s dead last finish didn’t help matters.

It’s currently unclear if they’ll play in a lower level league, if at all, in 12-13. Shame because they definitely have fans.
