Bruce Boudreau was not a fan of referees last night

Losing a game is frustrating as it is. When you think the referees are helping you lose though, that tends to make everyone a little more cranky. The Ducks getting doubled up by the Kings last night 4-2 helped make Bruce Boudreau one of those grumpy guys thanks to the Kings scoring two of their four goals on the power play.

Boudreau sounded off about the officiating loudly after the game. Jeff Miller of the Orange County Register gets the rant.

“Some of the worst calls I’ve seen in a friggin’ long time,” he said. “A game of this importance, we can’t have officiating making calls like that. I mean, there’s three penalties that weren’t penalties.”

Oh yes, there’s more.

“Everybody makes mistakes,” Boudreau continued. “But if we’re busting our (rearend) all night long and playing our fifth game in seven nights. I mean, we need it better. I mean, from them…I don’t know what their schedule is, if it’s four nights in a row or what have you. But we can’t have that. Just bad calls.”

With a rant like that, Boudreau’s wallet is likely to get a bit lighter because of it. The league will always stand up for their officials, right or wrong, and anyone that lashes out is going to hear about it. Rants like this though make us all happy that Boudreau found a new place to land, getting tirades like this is priceless.

I’ll say it again, this is the most poorly officiated season I’ve seen in the thirty plus years I’ve been watching the game. Inconsistency seems to be the hallmark of every game. Fire Terry Gregson, now, before the playoffs start.

Dan O’Halloran and Stephane Augèr are the WORST

Tim Peel and Francois St Laurent can give them a run for the money too, based on last night’s TB/CAR game.

Or any other game Peel has officiated this year, to be honest.

Chris Lee is single handedly the worst. He always makes the game about him.

Yeah you hate to see any player or coach use the refs as an excuse, but I watched that game last night and it was pretty bad. And I have noticed the officiating has been god awful in a lot games all season. More so than last year for sure.

Sat: Kings 4 vs Chicago 0

Mon: Kings 1 vs Nashville 2

Tues: Kings 4 vs Minnesota 0

Sat: Kings 4 vs Ducks 2

It’s looking good friends, really good … but we’ll need to go “full throttle” now if we’re going to still catch the Canucks … but we can do it and we will ! … March 26th is going to be huge … just hope they still have Kardashian playing then … :)

i remember watching terry gregson in the old IHL and he was god awful then. he somehow made it to the NHL and was still god awful. now he must be in charge of making sure all the referees are god awful like he was. sad

I didn’t see the game so I cant comment on the officiating in this particular game. I will see I’ve seen some very poor officiating all year though. I’m sure some people will bust Boudreau’s balls for complaining but until people start talking about the officiating it will never get better.
