Pens lose Goc (foot) for three weeks

Mar 28, 2014, 6:22 PM EDT

The banged-up Pittsburgh Penguins have lost the services of trade deadline pickup Marcel Goc for the next three weeks, the club announced on Friday.

Goc, acquired from Florida at the deadline, was injured on this play in last night’s 3-2 loss to Los Angeles:

Goc had no goals and two assists in 12 games with Pittsburgh this season, averaging just under 14 minutes per game. He was expected to see a rise in playing time and responsibility down the stretch, however, after Evgeni Malkin was lost for the remainder of the regular season.

And the merry go round of injuries just keep going on and on. This season has been really frustrating injury wise, the Penguins haven’t been healthy since the 1st game of the season, it would be nice to see the Penguins be healthy for at least a few games this year, but that probably won’t happen.

It would be nice for the Penguins to get a win tonight and maybe a get a little bit on a roll going into the postseason, they really need it right now.

The playoffs don’t start for another couple weeks and Pens fans are already making excuses for their early departure. Ha!
