The Lightning added some forward depth on Tuesday, agreeing to terms with young journeyman forward Tye McGinn on a one-year, two-way deal.

Financial terms of the contract weren’t disclosed.

Just 24, McGinn has played in nearly 90 NHL contests and already been with three different organizations -- after breaking in with Philly, he split last year between San Jose and Arizona, finishing with two goals and seven points in 51 games.

The middle of three hockey-playing McGinn brothers -- the eldest, Jamie, is with Buffalo while the youngest, Brock, is in the Carolina organization -- Tye should provide some size to the Bolts lineup, assuming he draws in.

There figures to be stiff competition at forward in Tampa next year, hence why McGinn’s deal is of the two-way variety. That said, at 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds, he could provide some grit and energy on the fourth line, possibly replicating the role Brenden Morrow filled last season.
