One of Philadelphia’s largest blueliners is on his way overseas.

Oliver Lauridsen -- who tips the scales at 6-foot-6, 220 pounds -- has agreed to join Frolunda of the Swedish Hockey League, the team announced on Monday.

Lauridsen, 26, appeared in one game for the Flyers last season, spending most of his time with the club’s AHL affiliate in Lehigh Valley. His longest stint at the NHL level came during the lockout-shortened ’13 campaign, when he scored two goals and three points in 15 contests.

It’s not surprising Lauridsen decided to sign in Europe.

Over the last two seasons he got lost in Philly’s defensive prospect pool, unable to stick at the NHL level full-time. He would also inevitably be overtaken by all the bright young prospects on the horizon, like Samuel Morin, Travis Sanheim, Robert Hagg and Shayne Gostisbehere (and now Ivan Provorov, the seventh overall pick at this year’s draft who says he wants to challenge for an NHL spot.)
