The Washington Capitals are going with veteran experience over youth for tonight’s Game 7 against the Islanders.

Trade deadline pickup Curtis Glencross, who’s been a scratch for the last three games, will draw back in tonight -- likely at the expense of rookie Michael Latta.

Glencross, 32, wasn’t much of a factor in the opening three games of this series, going pointless with a minus-3 rating. That included a forgettable effort in a 4-3 win in Game 2, during which he received just over seven minutes of ice time after being on for two of the Islanders’ three goals.

He hasn’t been a tremendous fit in Washington, period. Though his production through 18 regular season games was decent -- four goals and seven points -- he only averaged 12:36 TOI under head coach Barry Trotz, way down from the 16:41 he got with Calgary prior to the trade.

It’ll be interesting to see if Glencross can give the Caps anything tonight, in what will be the 13th Game 7 in franchise history.
