Winnipeg sold out of playoff tickets in under five minutes

Jets Playoffs Reax Hockey

Winnipeg Jets fans gather at the intersection of Portage Avenue and Main Street in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Thursday, April 9, 2015, to celebrate the Jets clinching an NHL playoff spot. The Jets received help from Calgary to squeeze into the playoffs as a wild card when the Flames knocked defending Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles out of the race. The last time the franchise made the postseason was in 2006-07, when the team was the Atlanta Thrashers. Significant enough for the club to send out a press release:

The Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club announced today that individual tickets to Games 3 & 4 of their 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs Western Conference Quarterfinal series against the Anaheim Ducks sold out in less than five minutes.

Fans are encouraged to continue to monitor www.winnipegjets.com for future ticket releases such as game day releases as well as possible seat exchange opportunities at Jets Seat Exchange on the official Winnipeg Jets team website.

Though impressive, the quick sale shouldn’t come as a huge surprise. Winnipeg played to capacity all season long in one of the NHL’s smallest venues -- the MTS Centre holds 15,016 -- and fans are beyond thrilled for the return of playoff hockey, which hasn’t been played in the ‘Peg since 1996.
