The Vancouver Canucks have recalled forward Sven Baertschi from AHL Utica.
Baertschi, acquired from Calgary at the deadline, has been on a roll with the Comets. The 22-year-old has 13 points (7G, 6A) in 12 games since getting a much-needed fresh start in a new organization.
Vancouver is in Winnipeg to play the Jets tomorrow. It’s possible Baertschi could be inserted into the lineup for rookie Ronalds Kenins, who’s been playing left wing on a line centered by rookie Bo Horvat, with veteran Jannik Hansen on the right side. But no word yet what the Canucks have planned.
Baertschi had no goals and four assists in 15 games for the Flames earlier this season.
Update:
Only line change for #Canucks at practice is Baertschi in for Kenins.
