The New York Islanders have brought in a second collegiate goalie prospect in as many weeks.

After signing Ferris State’s C.J. Motte last Wednesday, the club announced today that Minnesota State netminder Stephon Williams -- who finished second in the country with a 1.65 GAA this year -- has signed a two-year entry-level deal that will kick in at the start of the 2015-16 regular season.

Williams, a junior, will forgo his senior season and immediately join the Isles’ AHL affiliate in Bridgeport on an ATO (amateur tryout).

The 21-year-old, taken by New York in the fourth round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, enjoyed a stellar three-year career with the Mavericks and was named the WCHA’s top goalie this season. He also backstopped Minnesota State to a top seed in the NCAA Tourney, in which the Mavs were upset in the opening round by RIT.

Williams finished this season with a 25-6-3 record, and a .925 save percentage.
