Once one of the game’s premier scorers and point producers, Vincent Lecavalier finally found the back of the net Wednesday to end a 27-game drought without a goal.
It’s been a while. The last time he scored was on Jan. 3. In the meantime, there has been plenty of fodder for how Philadelphia’s coach Craig Berube is deploying the veteran center, and Lecavalier strongly suggesting he needs a better opportunity.
Lecavalier, 34, scored on a rebound for the Philadelphia Flyers late in the first period to get his team on even terms with the Pittsburgh Penguins. It’s just the eighth goal of the season for Lecavalier, who once scored 52 goals in a season back in 2006-2007.
