The Detroit Red Wings have lost forward Darren Helm for the remainder of this afternoon’s game in Nashville.

Helm took a hit from Preds’ defenseman Seth Jones midway through the first period.

The team is calling it an upper body injury.

As Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press notes, it was in Nashville that Helm suffered a bad skate cut to his forearm during the 2012 playoffs.

Helm has 13 goals and 29 points in 61 games this season while averaging 15:26 in ice time.
