Teemu’s back.
No, not that Teemu -- Teemu Pulkkinen, the AHL’s leading scorer, who’s been recalled by Detroit in advance of Wednesday’s Rivalry Night game against Chicago.
Pulkkinen, who appeared in six games for the Wings last monthy, has scored 30 goals in 57 games for Grand Rapids this season and has played to great fanfare; prior to bringing him up, Detroit GM Ken Holland said he “shoots like Brett Hull” and the 23-year-old Finn later appeared in his first-ever AHL All-Star Classic at the end of January.
It’s unclear who Pulkkinen will draw in for should he suit up on Wednesday. According to MLive, Tomas Jurco -- who’s gone 25 games without a goal -- is a candidate to be replaced.
