The Chicago Blackhawks could have Kris Versteeg back in the lineup on Wednesday when they play host to the Vancouver Canucks.

The 28-year-old has been out of Chicago’s lineup since suffering a left hand injury at the Winter Classic on Jan. 1.

Versteeg, who underwent surgery for the injury, has already missed 14 games and is expected to miss both Sunday’s game in St. Louis and Monday’s game against Arizona.

In 34 games this season Versteeg has nine goals and 27 points.

The Chicago Sun-Times also reports that defenseman Trevor van Riemsdyk has begun skating on his own in Chicago.

Van Riemsdyk has been out of the Blackhawks lineup since suffering a knee injury in November.
