Corey Crawford has played in some big games, like in Stanley Cup finals. And he’s been successful in those situations, too. There’s some pressure, no question.

This weekend, well, not so much.

For Crawford, the 30-year-old Chicago Blackhawks goalie who missed almost a month earlier this season after injuring himself at a concert, he’ll take part in his first NHL All-Star game, which goes Sunday in Columbus. The festivities have already started, with the fantasy draft Friday evening and the skills competition on Saturday.

Crawford enters the weekend with an 18-10-2 record, .921 save percentage that is eighth among NHL goalies, and 2.26 goals-against average, which is also eighth in that category.

“As a goalie you’re just praying before the game that you don’t get lit up too much,” Crawford told CSN Chicago. “Maybe, as a goalie, you just hang in there.”
