Adam Larsson couldn’t have picked a worse time to get his pocket picked by John Tavares.
The New York Islanders star hounded the New Jersey Devils defenseman along the end boards, eventually stole the puck, came out front and beat Keith Kinkaid to give the Islanders a 3-2 overtime victory.
Tavares finished the night with three points, including the game-tying goal later in the third period. He now has seven points in his last four games.
Islanders forward Mikhail Grabovski left the game in the second period with a lower-body injury and did not return.
Larsson said the OT winner was "all my fault. It was a bad play by me."
