The coaching staffs at the 2015 NHL All-Star Game in Columbus will have a decidedly Western feel.

Two Western Conference bench bosses -- Los Angeles’ Darryl Sutter and Nashville’s Peter Laviolette -- have been selected as coaches, the league announced on Friday.

More:

Under the All-Star selection process, the head coach of the team with the highest points percentage (points earned divided by total possible points) in the NHL through games of Saturday, Jan. 10 -- the halfway point of the regular season -- earns the right to lead one of the All-Star teams.

Laviolette’s Predators have recorded a League-leading points percentage of .725 (27-9-4) and are assured of retaining the top spot through Saturday’s games. Joining Laviolette will be members of his Nashville coaching staff.

As head coach of the defending Stanley Cup champion Kings, Sutter will direct the other All-Star Team and be accompanied by members of his Los Angeles coaching staff.

Laviolette, in his first year as Preds coach, will bring along assistants Phil Housley and Kevin McCarthy. Sutter’s staff includes a pair of former head coaches in John Stevens and Davis Payne.

The ’15 ASG will be Laviolette’s second, having shared coaching duties with then-Vancouver bench boss Alain Vigneault in 2011. This will mark the first time Sutter’s ever coached at an All-Star Game.
