The Winnipeg Jets got defenseman Zach Bogosian (lower body) back on Thursday, but his return was marred by yet another setback to the team’s heavily depleted blueline.
Grant Clitsome had back surgery yesterday and might miss the remainder of the reason as a result, per the Winnipeg Sun. This is a recurrence of a problem that limited him to 32 games in 2013-14.
“He’s out indefinitely and we’re talking about months not weeks,” Jets coach Paul Maurice said.
It was revealed on Monday that Clitsome was hurt, but the extent of his injury wasn’t immediately clear. This news comes at a time when the Jets are also missing defensemen Mark Stuart, Jacob Trouba, and Tobias Enstrom.
Winnipeg has turned some heads this season with its solid play, but the Jets have dropped four of their last five contests. They have just a two-point edge on the Calgary Flames on the second Wild Card spot.
