Jakub Voracek scored his 16th of the season as the Philadelphia Flyers edge the Washington Capitals 3-2 Thursday night.

With the win, the Flyers have opened up their four-game home stand with a pair of wins.

Sean Couturier and R.J. Umberger scored for Philadelphia in regulation while Steve Mason made 26 saves for the win.

It wasn’t all positive news for the Flyers as they lost defenseman Nicklas Grossmann in the first period to what the team is calling an upper body injury.

General manager Ron Hextall is expected to have an update on Grossman on Friday.

Alex Ovechkin and Karl Alzner had the Washington goals while Braden Holtby made 30 saves in the loss.
