This development is likely of great relief to both the organization and its fans -- Mason, who’s posted a solid save percentage (.919) and GAA (2.50) this season, had missed four games earlier in the year to back injury and there was concern that, after leaving today’s practice to get an MRI, he’d re-aggravated the ailment.

That said, it’s not guaranteed he’ll be in goal when Philly hosts the Caps tomorrow. Mason looked like he first tweaked himself during Tuesday’s shootout win over Ottawa and couldn’t make it through Wednesday’s practice, so it’ll be interesting to see if he can make it through the morning skate.
