A win over the San Jose Sharks on Saturday, and the L.A. Kings now find themselves second in the Pacific Division - one point ahead of the fourth-place Vancouver Canucks.

So, it’s getting crowded in the battle for that division.

The Kings, defending Stanley Cup champions, defeated their California rivals, the Sharks, by a final score of 3-1 to jump ahead of them in the standings. For the Kings, that’s three wins in their last four games. And their power play is red hot, with goals in five straight games. That includes a run of four games with two or power play goals, with the Kings successful on 10 of their last 23 chances.

It’s been a big reason for L.A.'s recent success.

“And we got seven out of eight points,” said Kings’ head coach Darryl Sutter, as per LA Kings Insider.
