Not sure Shane Doan had this in mind when he envisioned his shootout opportunity for the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday.

In fact, his shootout winner against the Anaheim Ducks, and Andrew Ladd’s overtime winner for the Winnipeg Jets over the Minnesota Wild were among some of the weirdest goals we’ll witness this season. Doan’s stick snapped as he took his shot in the shootout and yet the puck still somehow slid past goalie Frederik Andersen.

Two points for Arizona.

Here is Ladd’s overtime winner for the Jets - a wrist shot that went over top of the net, hit the glass, rebounded back and went in off the back of Minnesota’s emergency call-up goalie John Curry.

Two points for Winnipeg.
