It’s been the biggest story in the NHL for the past two days, especially as more layers peel away.

The coaching situation with the New Jersey Devils has been on an ongoing one, starting with the firing of Peter DeBoer on Friday and spawning even more debate with the unveiling of a new plan from general manager Lou Lamoriello, which includes Lamoriello stepping behind the bench for an undetermined amount of time. Scott Stevens will focus on the defensive side for the Devils, and Adam Oates will focus on the forwards.

Both Stevens and Oates appear to be serious candidates for the vacant head coaching job.
