The San Jose Sharks will be without enforcer John Scott for the next four games, so they have recalled winger Micheal Haley from the American Hockey League.

Scott, a repeat offender in the NHL, was suspended four games on Dec. 24 for a punch that knocked out Anaheim forward Tim Jackman. His temporary replacement, Haley, has just 52 NHL games worth of experience to his credit. Most of those came with the New York Islanders from 2009 to 2012, though he has spent time in the New York Rangers organization.

Scoring and finesse aren’t parts of Haley’s game, although he does lead the Worcester Sharks in goals with 10.

“Micheal plays with an edge and competes hard on every shift,” said Sharks general manager Doug Wilson, as per CSN Bay Area. “His hard-working, physical game brings a different dimension that teams have to account for, and he is a great teammate that will mesh well with our organization.”
