Goaltender Rob Zepp, 33, had to wait a long time before he finally made his NHL debut, but it was worth it as his Philadelphia Flyers came from behind to earn a 4-3 overtime win over the Winnipeg Jets.

Winnipeg made Zepp work hard early as they outshot the Flyers 17-9 in the first period and 26-13 through 40 minutes. The Jets were consequently up 3-1 through two, but Zepp kept the Flyers in the game with this critical save on Mark Scheifele:

In his third game since returning from his exile, Vincent Lecavalier stepped up in the third period with a pair of goals. He came close to a hat trick as he fired a shot off two posts early in the final frame:

Jakub Voracek scored 10 seconds into overtime to complete the Flyers comeback. With that Zepp has become the oldest goaltender to win his NHL debut since Nov. 17, 1926 when Hugh Lehman recorded his first victory at the age of 41, according to Sportsnet.

The Flyers have now won back-to-back games without starting goaltender Steve Mason (upper body) and in both cases they’ve had to overcome two-goal deficits. Those victories are critical for Philadelphia as the team climbs to 13-14-6 and now sits six points out of a playoff spot.
