Video: Ducks coach reportedly says Perry (lower-body) will travel to Winnipeg

The next stop for the Anaheim Ducks on this quick little road trip is in Winnipeg on Sunday, and it appears Corey Perry will be there with his team.

Perry played only four shifts Friday against the Minnesota Wild, before leaving the game with a lower-body injury the result of a hip check from defenseman Keith Ballard. Perry couldn’t put any pressure on his left leg as he was helped off the ice.

According to Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register, Ducks’ head coach Bruce Boudreau said Perry, the club’s current leader in goals with 14 in 23 games, will be going to Winnipeg with the rest of the team.

The club, however, didn’t have an update on the status of Perry.

Despite the absence of Perry, the Ducks came back to defeat the Wild 5-4 in another back-and-forth match-up. Anaheim jumped out to a three-goal lead, before Minnesota tied it in the second period, courtesy a pair of power play goals in 11 seconds.

The Ducks actually fell behind in the third period, allowing four straight goals from Minnesota, but came back for the win. Tim Jackman tied it up at four goals apiece and Matt Beleskey recorded the winner.

“There is no quit in there. That’s a huge part of our character,” said Beleskey, as per the club’s website.
