Connor McDavid, who could be the No. 1 pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, took in Saturday’s game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Vancouver Canucks, so naturally he was asked about the condition of his injured hand.
McDavid, who had 16 goals and 51 points in 18 games for the Erie Otters in the Ontario Hockey League before he injured his hand in a fight on Nov. 11, said he will see a doctor this week, and the cast is expected to come off. The diagnosis in November called for McDavid to miss five to six weeks.
The big question: Will he be ready for the 2015 World Junior Championship, which goes in Montreal and Toronto?
