Cody Almond’s time with the Minnesota Wild is done.

Almond, who was brought back to Minnesota this summer after two years abroad, has left the organization’s AHL affiliate in Iowa to re-join Swiss club Geneve-Servette, the team announced on Monday.

Almond, 25, inked a one-year, one-way deal with the Wild in July for $550,000, allowing him to rejoin the team that drafted him in the fifth round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. Prior to reconnecting with Minnesota, Almond spent two productive years in the Swiss National League A; prior to that, he’d appeared in 25 games for the Wild over the course of three seasons, scoring two goals.

Almond had appeared in just five games for Iowa this season, scoring no points while posting six PIM and a minus-3 rating.
