In the wake of the disaster that started when the Toronto Maple Leafs didn’t salute their fans following a win, here’s some good public relations for the club.
Forward Joffrey Lupul sent out a pair of tweets Saturday, describing how he helped an 80-year-old gentleman change a tire in the rain. Maybe that doesn’t completely calm any tensions between the fans and the hockey club, but still a nice thing to do.
I am currently changing an 80 year old mans tire on Dundas in the rain.. How's your day?

Didn't tell him that was first career tire change. But I am telling you. So heads up.

On Friday, Leafs’ president Brendan Shanahan addressed the issue, which has taken on a life of its own in the last 48 hours, on TSN radio in Toronto.
Meanwhile, as for the 31-year-old Lupul, he remains out of the lineup due to a broken hand suffered toward the end of October. He was placed on injured reserve early in November.
“I’m day-to-day right now,” said Lupul, as per the National Post. “I feel really good. Obviously it’s about taking the proper precautions and this is an injury that the medical staff have said players have come back a little too soon before and re-injured.”
