Colorado forward Alex Tanguay suffered a facial fracture after taking an Alex Ovechkin shot to the face on Thursday night, and will miss Saturday’s game against Carolina as a result.

Per Avs head coach Patrick Roy (by way of the Denver Post), Tanguay is still being evaluated.

Here’s a video of the incident, which occurred during the second period of Washington’s 3-2 win at the Pepsi Center:

Tanguay left the game holding the right side of his face, and didn’t return.
