Zemgus Girgensons scored twice while Matt Moulson added a goal and two assists as the Buffalo Sabres picked up their first regulation home ice win of the season, 6-2, over the Toronto Maple Leafs Saturday night.

Tyler Ennis, Drew Stafford and Tyler Myers had the other for the Sabres, who had just 24 goals in their previous 18 games.

Michal Neuvirth made 32 saves as Buffalo snapped a five-game losing skid.

David Clarkson and Phil Kessel scored for the Leafs. Toronto has now lost back-to-back in regulation for the first time since the first two games of the season.

Kessel’s goal was his 11th of the season tying him for second in the league with Corey Perry and Steven Stamkos.

Following the game, Kessel wasn’t in a talking mood telling TSN Radio’s Jonas Siegel to “Get away from me” when approached for comments.

The 19,070 in attendance at Buffalo’s First Niagara Center Saturday were predominantly Toronto fans and following Girgensons’ second of the night, Leafs scarves and a jersey made their way onto the ice.

James Reimer allowed six goals on 35 shots in the loss.
