Oshie back for Blues, who are now (finally) fully healthy

tjoshie2getty

It took a while, but the Blues are at 100 percent health.

On Thursday, the club activated T.J. Oshie from injured reserve and announced he’d return to the lineup for the first time in seven games tonight versus Nashville at Scottrade.

The move is a significant one not just for Oshie -- now recovered from his concussion -- but for the organization as well. Injuries and illness (the mumps!) ravaged St. Louis through the opening month: Oshie, David Backes, Paul Stastny, Carl Gunnarsson, Jori Lehtera, Ryan Reaves, Patrik Berglund and Joakim Lindstrom all missed at least one game to some type of ailment. Despite that, the Blues persevered and emerged with an impressive 10-4-1 record.

Now, they’ll be an interesting team to watch.

Getting healthy comes just prior to one of their toughest stretches of the season. Beginning next Tuesday, the Blues will play eight of 10 on the road -- which includes difficult stops in Boston, Montreal, Minnesota and Chicago (on NBCSN).
