Antoine Roussel, Dallas’ agitator extraordinaire, has been fined $5,376.45 -- the maximum allowable under the CBA -- for “punching an unsuspecting opponent” during Saturday’s loss to San Jose.

The opponent in question? Sharks defenseman Justin Braun, who got popped in the face during a melee that occurred after Roussel bowled over San Jose netminder Alex Stalock.

The video:

“What disappoints me is when a guy (Braun) is vulnerable and being held and he gets punched. That’s the disappointing thing,” Sharks coach Todd McLellan said after the game, per CSN Bay Area.

“I don’t think anybody in our league, the 750 players and coaches want to see that. It’s just not a classy moment.”

Roussel, who has never been fined nor suspended, received a goalie interference minor on the play and a 10-minute misconduct.
