The Philadelphia Flyers have placed veteran forward Blair Jones on waivers, for the purpose of sending him to AHL Lehigh Valley.

Jones, 28, signed with the Flyers in the offseason after spending the last three years in Calgary. He’s appeared in four games for Philadelphia, posting a minus-4 rating while averaging 6:55 TOI per game. His most noteworthy incident this season came in a late-October loss to Chicago, in which he laid out Blackhawks forward Ben Smith with a big hit and was called for charging:

Jones escaped supplementary discipline from the NHL’s department of player safety, but only appeared in one more game following the Smith hit and has been a healthy scratch in each of the last three contests.

The Flyers are set to give Carlo Colaiacovo his season debut tonight against Edmonton.
