The Buffalo Sabres have signed 2013 second round pick Justin Bailey to a three-year, entry-level contract the club announced Sunday.

Bailey, a Buffalo native, is in his third season with the Kitchener Rangers of the Ontario Hockey League where he has nine goals and 18 points in 13 games.

In 124 career OHL games, Bailey has 51 goals and 97 points to go along with 68 penalty minutes.

Bailey grew up a Sabres fan and lived next door to former Sabres’ Mike Peca, Rob Ray and Matthew Barnaby.

Sunday’s news sees the story come full circle for the 19-year-old.

Proud to be from Buffalo and one step closer to achieving my dream! Thanks to my family, friends, teammates, and all who have supported me!
