News and notes from the crease...

Calgary snaps the pattern

After equally rotating starts between Jonas Hiller and Kari Ramo to start the season, the Flames will go with Hiller for a second straight game tonight when they take on Nashville in Calgary.

Hiller played in Tuesday’s 2-1 shootout loss to Montreal and was good, stopping 18 of 19 shots faced. Hiller also has secured the Flames points in each of his last four starts, going 3-0-1 over that stretch, and Calgary is looking to snap its two-game losing skid this evening -- so the assignment makes sense.

As for the Preds, they’ve yet to confirm a starter but it’s likely Pekka Rinne gets his fifth straight nod, after allowing just one goal on 27 shots in Wednesday’s 4-1 victory over the Oilers.
