Michael Ferland was only recalled to the Calgary Flames on Thursday, as that club is enduring a rough patch with injuries.
However, Ferland left Friday’s game against the Nashville Predators. A possible return to the game was ruled out, after Ferland suffered an upper-body injury in the second period.
#Flames official word that Ferland will not return, out with an upper body injury.

Ferland’s pretty slow to get up here. Anton Volchenkov rolled him over pretty good. Lots of cheers heading to the bench and into the tunnel.

Ferland was summoned from Adirondack in the American Hockey League, as the Flames placed Mikael Backlund on injured reserve.
