Philadelphia defensemen Braydon Coburn and Andrew MacDonald have “lower-body injuries” and will be out of the Flyers lineup for approximately four weeks, GM Ron Hextall announced today.
From the Flyers:
Coburn had been skating with the team for a full week, rehabbing from an injury he suffered on opening night in Boston that has kept him out of the last five games.
MacDonald has appeared in all seven of the Flyers contests, recording three points (1g-2a) and an average ice-time of 22:55 to rank second on the team, behind Mark Streit.
Not the news a 2-3-2 team needed, obviously. Especially one that was already trying to fill the void left by Kimmo Timonen.
For Coburn to be out 4 weeks suggests he has a fracture in his left foot; could be the same for MacDonald.

Hextall says he hasn’t determined who he’ll call up from AHL Lehigh Valley. But according to Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Mark Alt is coming up.
The addition of Alt would give the Flyers six healthy d-men, the five others being Streit, Nick Schultz, Luke Schenn, Michael Del Zotto, and Nicklas Grossmann.
