Plenty of updates coming from this morning’s domestic assault arrest and subsequent suspension of Kings d-man Slava Voynov:

-- Per Redondo Beach jail (courtesy the O.C. Register), Voynov has been released on $50,000 bond, which was posted earlier this morning. Voynov is scheduled to make a court appearance in Torrance, CA. on Oct. 22.

-- NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly sent the following email to The Hockey News, explaining why the Voynov case was handled differently from that of Avs goalie Semyon Varlamov. Voynov was suspended immediately -- and indefinitely -- as opposed to Varlamov, who was allowed to continue playing after his arrest on second-degree kidnapping and third-degree assault charges:

“I think the landscape has changed for all of us over the past six months. But that’s not the only reason for the difference in treatment. Circumstances were different in Varlamov.

“I can’t get more specific than that.”

-- The Kings have yet to address Voynov’s arrest or suspension, and haven’t released a statement. The L.A. Times reached out to GM Dean Lombardi, but he was unable to be reached for comment. The Kings don’t play again until Thursday night at home against Buffalo, and aren’t scheduled to practice Monday.

-- Per TMZ, the alleged victim in the Voynov case was admitted to hospital, where staff reportedly called the authorities.

UPDATE: Here’s the Redondo Beach police department statement on the arrest, per the O.C. Register.
