Tampa Bay Lightning forward Ryan Callahan left Monday’s game with a lower-body injury and will not return, according to Erik Erlendsson of the Tampa Tribune.
Callahan didn’t come out to begin the third period. Earlier in the game, he caught Edmonton Oilers forward Taylor Hall with a heavy hit in behind the Tampa Bay net.
Not an ideal situation for the Lightning, losing Callahan, who had five points in five games coming into this game. Meanwhile, 2013 first-round pick Jonathan Drouin made his debut for Tampa Bay, even though he wasn’t originally expected to play in Edmonton.
His debut came after Alex Killorn was scratched from the lineup due to an ailment suffered during the morning skate.
Below, you’ll find video of one of Callahan’s final shifts in the game. Seemed to come out of the corner in discomfort.

If both Killorn and Callahan are unable to play tomorrow in Calgary, there are no extra forwards currently with the team so that means 7D

Updated: According to Erik Erlendsson of the Tampa Tribune, Lightning head coach Jon Cooper said Killorn and Callahan would need “miraculous” recoveries to play Tuesday night in Calgary.
