The long-awaited NHL debut of Jonathan Drouin will have to wait.

While Drouin has been called up to the Lightning and is with the team in Edmonton, he won’t play tonight versus the Oilers.

“He played two [AHL] games on the weekend and had a long day of travel [Sunday]. Edmonton is not the easiest place to get to from Syracuse,” Lightning coach Jon Cooper said, per NHL.com. “So we’re keeping out of this game, but he will get in at some point on this road trip.”

Drouin had a goal and two assists in a pair of games with the Crunch.

Tampa Bay plays tomorrow in Calgary, before ending its five-game trip with games Friday in Winnipeg and Saturday in Minnesota.
