All the latest from the blue paint…

Niklas Backstrom will make his season debut

Darcy Kuemper has allowed just two goals in three games this season, but it looks like he’ll skip the Wild’s afternoon game against the Los Angeles Kings.

Backstrom underwent abdominal and hip surgeries that ended his 2013-14 campaign and he hasn’t played in a regular season contest since Jan. 30 as a result.

“I’m real happy with Kuemps’ game right now, but Backy had a great training camp, too, and we’re a team and I want to make sure everybody feels part of that team,” Yeo told the Star Tribune.

The Kings are expected to counter with Jonathan Quick.

Elsewhere...

Sharks at Rangers: Alex Stalock and Henrik Lundqvist are probable.

Flames at Jets: Jonas Hiller vs. Ondrej Pavelec

Blues at Ducks: Brian Elliott and Frederik Andersen are probable.
