Flames rookie Johnny Gaudreau was a healthy scratch Friday as Calgary lost 3-2 to the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Gaudreau, 21, was pointless in five games.

On Sunday, Gaudreau responded to being scratched from the lineup scoring the game-winner and adding an assist as the Calgary Flames defeated the Winnipeg Jets 4-1.

Gaudreau scored a power play goal at 10:12 of the second period giving the Flames a 2-1 lead. He then assisted on Mason Raymond’s fifth of the season - part of a three-goal second period for the Flames. Raymond finished with a goal and two helpers.

Defensemen Dennis Wideman and T.J. Brodie had Calgary’s other goals. With his goal, Brodie extended his point streak to six games.

Jonas Hiller made 34 saves for his second win of the season.

Mark Scheifele had his first of the season for the Jets while Ondrej Pavelech made 25 saves.

The Flames have now won three of four while the Jets have lost four straight after winning their season opener.

The victory concludes Calgary’s six-game road trip, which saw the Flames go an impressive 4-2-0.
