Video: Schneider gets pulled against Capitals

New Jersey Devils v Florida Panthers

Cory Schneider has been pulled early in the third period of Thursday’s game between the New Jersey Devils and Washington Capitals.

Schneider, the Devils goalie, allowed five goals on 26 shots, with Nicklas Backstrom and Joel Ward scoring in the first four minutes of the third period to give Washington a three-goal lead.

Certainly, the Ward goal is one Schneider would love to have back. Ward took a wrist shot as he entered the zone - standard stuff, you’d think - that rebounded off the end boards, hit Schneider’s left skate and slid into the net as the goalie fell backwards.

Scott Clemmensen, who had yet to make an appearance for the Devils this season, entered the game.
