The Los Angeles Kings will be down another key contributor from last year’s Stanley Cup championship when they take on the Oilers at Staples tonight:

Gaborik is out, per Dean Lombardi. No timetable.

It’s unclear exactly what’s ailing Gaborik. The 32-year-old played in all three of L.A.'s games to start the season, recording one point while averaging 17:16 TOI per night, but didn’t skate yesterday and missed this morning’s twirl as well.

Most will suspect the Slovak speedster is suffering from some type of groin-related injury. Gaborik’s health has been marred by those types of ailments (abdominal, too) over the course of his 14-year career, and he missed four preseason games with an undisclosed injury -- which, according to the OC Register, has flared up again and is the reason for missing tonight’s affair.

As mentioned above, Gaborik isn’t the only King currently on the shelf. Defenseman Jake Muzzin and forward Trevor Lewis are sidelined with upper-body injuries; Muzzin has yet to play a single game this season while Lewis lasted just 10:29 in the season-opening loss to San Jose before getting hurt.
