Anaheim forward Patrick Maroon suffered a lower-body injury during Monday’s game and while the extent of the injury isn’t known, it looks like he’ll miss Tuesday’s game against the Philadelphia Flyers at a minimum, per the Orange County Register’s Eric Stephens.
Maroon sustained the injury when Sabres defenseman Jeff Gorges knocked him into the boards on a low hit:
Gorges wasn’t penalized for his actions, but it remains to be seen if he’ll receive any supplementary discipline.
After Maroon left the game, Matt Beleskey took his place on the Ducks’ top line with Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf.
Early feeling is the Maroon injury isn't one that'll end his season like a torn ACL or something. More should be known tomorrow.
