The Colorado Avalanche have scored a goal.
It took them 143:28 to do it -- that’s seven periods, plus change -- but Jamie McGinn’s second-period snap shot gave them a 1-0 lead on the Bruins this afternoon in Boston. The B’s have since tied it up.
Heading into today’s game, the Avs were the only team in the NHL that had yet to score. They started out by getting dominated in Minnesota, before returning to Denver Saturday and -- despite being more competitive -- getting shut out again by the Wild.
McGinn’s goal was assisted by Tyson Barrie and Matt Duchene.
Jamie McGinn looked like he surprised Niklas Svedberg a bit with quick shot from left circle & squirted puck through. Avs up 1-0 #BruinsTalk
