You had to know this was coming. The L.A. Kings and San Jose Sharks really don’t like each other.
And it didn’t take long to renew hostilities, as Kings’ forward Kyle Clifford fought Sharks’ forward Mike Brown just over 11 minutes into the opening period.
The Sharks came into this game with something to prove. They lost to the Kings in the opening round of the playoffs last spring, after leading the series 3-0 and needing only one win - one win! - to advance.
Instead, L.A. won four straight, and eventually went on to win it all. The Kings raised their Stanley Cup championship banner on Wednesday night, with the Sharks in the same building.
