Chris Pronger won’t comment just yet on a report he’s a top candidate for a job with the National Hockey League’s disciplinary department, according to the Courier-Post.
Flyers general manager Ron Hextall declined to comment through a PR spokesman. Pronger said, also through the team, that he wouldn’t speak Wednesday, but “maybe in the next couple of days.”
NHL commissioner Gary Bettman, speaking to reporters in L.A. prior to the Kings’ season opener and Stanley Cup banner raising, also wouldn’t confirm Pronger’s reported candidacy. But he didn’t do anything to quash the report, either.
Hearing NHL is hoping to have CPronger's situation resolved...for him to join Player Safety Dept...by Friday. Discussion with PA continue.

As noted already, any possible appointment of the 39-year-old Pronger into the league’s disciplinary department would be met with a critical response because of his ties to the Philadelphia Flyers, the team he played for three seasons before his career was derailed by post-concussion syndrome.
Bettman won't confirm #Flyers C. Pronger is PS top candidate, but says if he's hired, doesn't see "any issues" because he's "done playing."
